The story

The hybrid that shrugged off mildew.

A hybrid from the U.S. National Arboretum, bred with Lagerstroemia fauriei for resistance to powdery mildew. Dark coral-pink flowers run from summer into fall, followed by orange-red leaves and mottled, peeling bark. It grows into a vase-shaped small tree.
