The story

All the oak, none of the sprawl.

A narrow, upright oak that grows tall without spreading wide. Dark green summer leaves, the long life of an oak, and room left over for the rest of the garden.

Light

Full sun.

Water

Deep water every week or two for the first two or three summers.

Planting

Plant in fall or spring, root flare at the surface. Mulch wide, not against the trunk.

A real oak for a narrow lot, a driveway line or a tall living screen.
