The story
Velvet hearts on the move
Big, velvety, heart-shaped leaves with white veins, growing sideways from a creeping rhizome instead of climbing. The leaves get large with time. A collector favorite that rewards humidity.
Light
Medium to bright, indirect light. No direct sun on the velvet leaves.
Water
Keep the soil lightly moist, never soggy. Let the surface dry slightly between waterings.
Pot and soil
A chunky aroid mix of bark, perlite and some potting soil. Keep the rhizome on the surface, not buried, or it rots.
Each leaf is big enough to stop conversation, and it never needs a pole.
