The story

Solid green, zero fuss

Clear green, spade-shaped leaves on long, trailing vines. It isn't fussy about light, temperature or humidity, as long as the room stays above 55 degrees. Choose it grown in water in a glass bowl, no soil, or in a grey ceramic pot.

Light

Low to bright, indirect light. Solid green leaves handle low light better than any marbled pothos.

Water

In water: keep the roots covered, top it up as the level drops and refresh it every 2–3 weeks. In soil: water when the top inch is dry.

Pot and soil

In water: a clean glass vessel and plain water, roots only, no soil, with a drop of liquid fertilizer monthly. It can move to soil later, but pick one and stick with it; switching back and forth stresses the roots. In soil: any standard potting mix with drainage.

All-green means it does fine in the dim corners variegated plants sulk in.
