The story

White to strawberry, all season.

Big cone-shaped flower clusters open creamy white in midsummer, blush pink, then deepen to strawberry red as nights cool. New flowers keep opening above the old ones, so all three colors show at once. Red stems hold the heavy heads up.

Light

At least four to six hours of sun. More sun, sturdier stems and redder flowers.

Water

Weekly the first summer. After that, water in dry spells.

Planting

Any decent, well-drained soil. Soil pH doesn't change the color.

The easiest hydrangea, with a color show that runs for months.
