The story

The privacy hedge of the South.

Glossy, dark leaves held all the way to the ground on a dense pyramid that reaches 15 to 25 feet. It sets red berries without a male holly nearby, which most hollies can't. Deer leave it alone.

Light

Full sun for the densest growth and most berries. Tolerates part shade.

Water

Weekly the first year, then only in long dry spells.

Planting

Spring or fall. Root flare level with the soil, in a hole twice as wide as the root ball.

A fast, solid screen that looks good every day of the year.
