The story

White camellias for colder gardens.

Thick-petaled double white flowers with a light scent open in fall, against glossy, deep green leaves. It's upright and dense enough for an evergreen hedge, and bred to take colder winters than the classic camellias.

Light

Part shade or bright filtered light.

Water

Evenly moist the first year; water in late summer when buds form.

Planting

Spring or early fall, slightly high, in acidic, organic soil. A sheltered spot in zone 6.
