The story

The darkest ninebark going.

Fine-textured foliage so deep a burgundy it reads black, on arching stems. Clusters of white-to-pink flowers in late spring stand out hard against it.

Light

Full sun for the darkest leaves. In shade they fade to green-bronze.

Water

Water regularly the first season; tolerates dry spells after.

Planting

Plant spring or fall at pot depth in average soil.

A native shrub with drama, and tough enough for most yards.
