The story

A small orchard on one trunk.

Two to four peach varieties grafted onto one tree, picked so they bloom together and ripen at different times. You get a few weeks of peaches instead of one frantic one. Peaches set fruit on their own, so the grafts are about range, not pollination.

Light

Full sun, eight hours or more. Less sun means less fruit and less sugar.

Water

Weekly the first year. Once established, deep watering every week or two in dry weather, especially as fruit swells.

Planting

Plant in late winter or spring with the graft union 2 in. above the soil. Wide hole, native soil, no amendments in the hole.

The variety of three peach trees in the footprint of one.
