The story

The fig that comes back.

Medium mahogany-purple figs with dark, jammy flesh. Where winter kills the top, it regrows from the roots and fruits on the new wood the same summer. Self-fertile.

Light

Full sun; a south wall helps in the North.

Water

Water weekly while establishing and while fruit ripens.

Planting

Spring. Well-drained soil. In cold zones, a sheltered, sunny corner.

Real figs in places that aren't supposed to grow figs.
