The story
A boxwood built for cold.
A dense, oval-upright boxwood with semi-glossy emerald leaves that take a bluish cast in summer and darken in winter. It resists winter burn better than most and holds its shape with little trimming. Good for hedges, foundations and big pots.
Light
Full sun to shade. Winter wind protection helps in exposed spots.
Water
Weekly the first summer. Deep watering in fall helps it through winter.
Planting
Well-drained soil, neutral to slightly alkaline. Keep the root ball at grade; never bury the stem.
Formal structure that survives Northern winters.
