The story

Pastel doubles, pint-size shrub.

Small double flowers in soft pastels: pink in alkaline soil, blue in acidic, purple in between. The whole plant stays a foot or two tall, small enough for a container or the front of a bed.

Light

Morning sun and afternoon shade. Full sun only where summers are cool.

Water

Keep evenly moist; it wilts fast in heat. Water at the base, not the leaves.

Planting

Plant in spring or early fall in soil with plenty of organic matter, crown at soil level.
