The story
Groundcover for the hot spots.
Tight rosettes of small scalloped green leaves knit into a dense mat, tipped maroon when the weather cools. Pink star flowers cover it in midsummer and the bees find them fast.
Light
Full sun for the tightest growth and best color. Part shade is fine.
Water
Water a few times while it roots in. After that, rarely.
Planting
Plant spring through early fall. Loosen the soil and keep mulch away from the stems.
Fills dry, sunny gaps between pavers and along edges where little else will hold on.
