The story

The largest fruit a tree grows.

A glossy evergreen tree that carries spiky green fruit on its trunk and main limbs, often 10 to 40 pounds each. Ripe, it tastes of banana and pineapple. Green, it cooks up like pulled pork.

Water deeply once or twice a week while young. It hates wet feet more than drought.

Planting

Plant in spring in well-drained soil. Young trees need cover from cold below 40°F.
