The story
Dinner plates, all summer.
Soft pink flowers about 8 in. across, washed red at the center, opening up and down the stems from midsummer into fall. Overlapping petals give it an almost double look on a tidy, rounded plant of dark green leaves.
Light
Full sun. Fewer flowers and weaker stems in shade.
Water
Keep it evenly moist; it handles wet soil far better than dry. Water deeply in summer heat.
Planting
Plant in spring once the soil is warm, crown at soil level.
Tropical-sized flowers on a hardy perennial that comes back every year.
