The story

Leaves the color of tea.

Big, deeply cut leaves in burnt orange and cinnamon with darker red centers, shifting color through the season. Small white flowers appear in late spring, but the foliage is the point.

Light

Part shade. Morning sun deepens the color; hot afternoon sun scorches it.

Water

Keep evenly moist, not wet.

Planting

Plant in spring or fall, crown level with the soil, in humus-rich soil.

Warm, unusual leaf color that lights up shade beds and pots from spring to frost.
