The story

Small Greek olive, big oil.

A compact, dense olive from Crete and the Peloponnese with tiny fruit and a famously high oil yield. The oil is peppery and grassy. The tree is silver-green and handsome in a large pot.

Light

Full sun, six hours or more. Indoors in winter, the sunniest window.

Water

Water when the top two inches are dry. Established trees in the ground are drought tolerant; containers need more.

Planting

Spring, in fast-draining soil or a gritty cactus-and-citrus mix. Never a pot without drainage.
