The story

The Tuscan oil olive.

The variety behind classic Tuscan extra-virgin oil, green and peppery. Silvery, willow-like leaves on a graceful tree that handles heat, drought and life in a big pot. Mostly self-fertile; another olive nearby raises the crop.

Light

Full sun.

Water

Water deeply, then let the soil dry. Overwatering kills more olives than drought.

Planting

Plant in spring in fast-draining soil or a gritty pot mix. Avoid heavy clay.

A real olive tree, beautiful in a pot, with oil olives if your climate cooperates.
