The story

Exclamation points, minus the punctuation.

Tall alliums with round flower heads up to 5 in. across, in light purple, deep purple and cream. They bloom between the tulips and the summer perennials, when beds tend to stall. Deer and rodents skip them.

Light

Full sun.

Water

Water after planting. They like it on the dry side, especially in summer.

Planting

Plant in fall, six weeks or so before the ground freezes, pointed end up. 6–8 in. deep.

Height and structure in late spring, and the dried heads keep going.
