The story

Purple flowers, golden throat.

Reddish-purple flowers with a yellow throat, starting in late spring and reblooming through summer on a compact plant. It's the same easy, everblooming habit as the gold types, in a deeper color.

Light

Full sun for the most flowers. It takes light afternoon shade.

Water

Water weekly the first summer. Established plants handle dry spells; rebloom is better with water.

Planting

Plant in spring or early fall with the crown no more than 1 in. deep.

Rebloom and toughness in a richer color than the usual gold.
