The story

Tiny dark leaves, blue spires.

Small, narrow leaves in chocolate-bronze with burgundy tints form a tight mat, topped with short spikes of blue flowers in spring. It's a smaller-leaved, slower ajuga that fills between stones without running wild.

Light

Part shade is ideal. Sun is fine with steady moisture; in deep shade the color greens up.

Water

Keep evenly moist, not wet.

Planting

Plant in spring or fall, crown at soil level.

Evergreen-ish dark color at ground level, from sun to shade.
