Tall majesty palm with long arching feathery green fronds

Light

Bright, indirect light. A few hours of gentle morning sun is fine. Low light makes it pale and sparse.

Water

Keep evenly moist. Water when the top inch dries, and empty the saucer.

Pot and soil

Keep it in its nursery pot inside a decorative one the first year. Repot every two years in spring.

Pot it inRosy Houseplant Soil · 4 qtThe everyday peat-free mix. 4 qt repots 2–3 plants. Peat-free, by Rosy Soil

Feeding

Palm fertilizer monthly in spring and summer, with magnesium.

Grooming

Cut off brown fronds at the base. Never cut the top.

Through the year

Grows in spring and summer; can go outdoors in shade when nights stay above 50°F. Indoors in fall, away from heat vents.

If something's off

Spider mites love dry air; rinse the fronds. Yellowing fronds usually mean too little light or too little feeding.

Plays well with

Plant it with friends.
