The story

Agave looks, tabletop size.

A compact rosette of green leaves heavily spotted in deep red, about six inches tall and a foot across. Mangaves are agave crossed with a close cousin, so they grow faster and are gentler to handle than agaves.

Light

Full sun brings out the red spotting. In shade the color fades and the rosette stretches.

Water

Soak the pot, then let the mix dry out completely before watering again. Indoors in winter, about once a month is enough.

Planting

Pot in cactus mix with extra grit or pumice, in a container with a drainage hole. Plant in the ground only within its zones, in soil that drains fast.

Agave style in a size that fits a sunny table, with color most agaves don't have.
