Light

Full sun outdoors. Indoors, a south window or grow light in winter.

Water

Deeply when the top inch or two dries. Let pots drain fully.

Planting and soil

Well-drained soil or citrus potting mix. Keep the graft union above the soil.

Feeding

Citrus fertilizer with micronutrients, spring through early fall.

Pruning

Remove sprouts below the graft and dead wood. Light shaping after harvest; wear gloves.

Through the year

White blossoms in spring. Fruit turns yellow and ripens in fall into early winter.

If something's off

Yellow leaves call for micronutrients. Young trees need frost protection even though mature ones are hardy.
