Full sun, eight hours if you can.

Water

Deep watering when the top inch is dry. Never waterlogged.

Planting and soil

A raised spot in sandy, well-drained soil, or a citrus mix in a pot with drainage.

Feeding

Citrus fertilizer three or four times a year, spring through late summer.

Pruning

After the main harvest, thin crowded branches and remove sprouts from below the graft.

Through the year

Main bloom in spring. Fruit ripens late summer through winter. Protect from frost.

If something's off

Leaf curl and distorted new growth: citrus leafminer or aphids. Yellow leaves: underfed.
