It makes more of itself. Arching striped leaves and, once it settles in, little plantlets on long stems you can pot up and hand out. Forgiving, fast and non-toxic to cats and dogs.

Arrowhead Vine

Pink, but make it professional.

Arrow-shaped leaves, freckled pink. Compact when young, it fills a 4-inch pot with pink-speckled arrows and slowly starts to climb. Good on a desk, better on a shelf where it can trail.

Veined like a map.

Small, bright and pet-safe. Low mounds of leaves traced in bright veins. It dramatically wilts when thirsty and springs back within an hour of watering, which makes it the easiest plant to read.

How to plant it

Spider plant at the end where it can arch. Inch plant on the edge so it trails. Arrowhead and nerve plant in the middle. Water them when you do the dishes.
