Shrub with glossy leaves and heavy clusters of bright pink and deep blue berries

Light

Full sun for the most fruit and best fall color. Part shade is fine.

Water

Keep evenly moist. It tolerates wet soil.

Planting and soil

Plant spring or fall at pot depth. Site within 50 ft of a different V. nudum for pollination.

Feeding

Compost or light shrub fertilizer in spring.

Pruning

Prune lightly right after flowering if needed. Late pruning removes next year's flowers and fruit.

Through the year

White flowers in June. Pink-to-blue berries late summer. Burgundy fall leaves.

If something's off

Little fruit almost always means no pollination partner nearby. Viburnum leaf beetle can chew leaves in the Northeast.

Plays well with

Plant it with friends.
